Church of Keota, Colorado Prairie Ghost Town – Polaroid Image Transfer

The church with its unusual corner bell tower was built in 1918. The complete bell tower can still be seen on older photographs. You can find more information about Keota in Ghosts of the Colorado Plains by Perry Eberhart.

I am not familiar with a newer book by Kenneth Jessen, Ghost Towns: Eastern Colorado, but it includes nearly 1,000 abandoned sites, so I am sure that Keota is covered.

I would also recommend White Churches of the Plains by Robert H. Adams if you can find a used copy. I used that book in my attempts to find some old churches in eastern Colorado (a great conversation starter at a location).
