Pianos About Town is a collaborative project between Bohemian Foundation, the DDA (Donwtown Development Authority) and the City of Fort Collins’ Art in Public Places Program. The pianos are painted by local artists and then placed around Fort Collins, inviting pedestrians to participate in this interactive experience.

On Saturday night (June 18, 2011) I was watching Ren Burke (Bird in Hand Studio) painting a mural on the piano. I wonder how that piano would look just painted blue, maybe, with a single woodpecker picking around a corner. It would be fun to watch all phases of this painting project.

You can find more public artwork of Ren around the Old Town. I photographed some of her paintings on transformer cabinets. I’ve got a lot of interesting abstracts but still need to find a way to photograph them in a more meaningful context. Perhaps, I need to add a human element.
