My superfood portfolio includes now images of several algae and seaweed dietary supplements:

Spirulina

Spirulina (Arthrospira maxima and plaetensis) is a vivid blue-green algae that commonly grows in freshwater lakes and ponds. It’s considered a complete protein, containing an ideal balance of all 9 essential amino acids. And its protein is more digestible than other rich protein sources such as red meat and even soy.

Chlorella

Chlorella (Chlorella Vulgaris) is an emerald green, single-celled freshwater algae that grows naturally in lakes and ponds. One of the best superfoods, chlorella is packed with nearly ten times the healthy chlorophyll of similar greens like wheat grass, barley and alfalfa. In fact, chlorella’s name comes from its high amount of chlorophyll, an important nutrient for cleansing your body.

Kelp

Kelp (Laminaria digitata) s an underwater plant with a majestic form, deep green color and a high nutritional yield. Constituents: iodine, Calcium, Iron, Potassium, Vitamin B1, B2, B12 and polysaccharides.

Wakame

Wakame (Alaria esculenta, Alaria marginata) is a seaweed that looks and tastes like a slippery spinach. Wakame can be used in the same ways as many other seaweeds including in soup and as an addition to green or fruit salads. When dried wakame is soaked in water it expands to at least 10 times its dried size. Constituents: mucilages, fucoidan.

Irish Moss

Irish moss (Chondrus crispus or Carrageen) is a tough and stringy red, yellow, or purple seaweed growing up to 6 inches (250 mm) high on rocks in tidal pools along the northern Atlantic. It is harvested to make carrageenan, a thickening agent for jellies, puddings, and soups, and is a traditional herbal remedy in Ireland. Constituents: mucliages, carrageenan, bromine, iodine.

Bladderwrack

Bladderwrack (Ascophyllum nodosum) is a brown seaweed harvested from cool ocean waters around world, easily recognized by its air-filled thalli or “bladders” that keep the plant afloat. It is rich in alginic acid and iodine.

Sea Lettuce

Sea lettuce (Ulva Lactuca) is a bright green algae composed of lobed, ruffled edged leaves that are sheet like and do resemble a leaf of lettuce. It has almost no stalk at point of attachment and no true roots. It is very high in iron, protein, iodine, manganese, and nickel.
