Pianos About Town is a collaborative project between Bohemian Foundation, DDA, and City of Fort Collins’ Art in Public Places. The project involves local artists painting murals on pianos at the Art in Action Stage in Old Town Square where the public can watch the creative process and interact with the artists. These colorfully-painted pianos are then rotated about town for the public to enjoy as both musical instruments and works of art. Due to the popularity of the project, Pianos About Town was chosen as the 2012 Art in Action project, showcasing local artists in the Square for another summer.
Here is one of the painted pianos. This one by Diane Findley. First, in the early stages of painting on July 1, 2011, and, then, as I seen a few days ago in the old town. I will be posting more pictures of painted pianos and transformer cabinets from my recent photo walks around Fort Collins.
